“Future-Mapping the Directions of EU Law: How Do We Predict the Future of EU Law?” is the theme of the special issue of the journal’s 2020 December issue guest edited by Elaine Farhey, Professor of Law and Jean Monnet Chair in Law and Transatlantic Relations at City, University of London, with contributions of legal scholars from Tilburg University, University Helsinki, Singapore Management University, Maynooth University, King’s College London, Keel University, University of Strathclyde and City, University of London. This Special Issue focuses on interdisciplinary consideration of how to predict the future of EU law. It probes a diversity of sub-fields, exploring inter alia the future of public and private law related themes, cutting-edge regulatory developments, the next legislative agenda and the post-Brexit constitutional legacy and landscape.

JICL promotes international legal research and scholarship. In addition to articles by scholars and practitioners on “black letter law,” we welcome interdisciplinary contributions especially those that tangibly link such disciplines as social sciences, economics, international politics and other fields of research and academic debate that may be more empirically based but of major significance in influencing the focus and reform of law in its national and global contexts.

Submissions are welcome for publication in 2022. Articles may be submitted to Professor Anton Cooray at Anton.cooray.1@city.ac.uk to whom any inquiries may also be directed.
